The Numbers?

What are the financial requirements?
We are looking for financially eligible partners with good credit history. Franchising with Zesty starts at an affordable investment starting from $150,000. Overall cost varies from one case to another. Please contact us for more information so we can better understand your needs.
How much does the franchise cost?
The initial investment for an individual unit can range from $150,000 to 300,000 CAD. $75,000 cash needed is required. The rest can be financed. The final costs will depend on the size of the location.
What’s your franchise fee?
Depending on the level of support we will provide, the Franchise Fee for a Startup Franchise is $35,000 CAD.
What are the royalty fee?
Zesty charges 6% of gross sales paid monthly. This fee grants franchisee usage of our Franchise Systems, Trademark, use of distinctive system, marketing assistance, ongoing business development and training and support.
What about advertising?
Zesty collects 2% of gross sales that will be spent on marketing and advertising. You will also need to spend at least 1% of your gross sales per month on local advertising.
Do you lend money to your franchisees?
No. We do have preferred relationships with major Canadian financial institutions to help you acquire financing.
What are your franchise agreement terms?
The initial term of the Franchise Agreement is 10 years from the date the Franchise Agreement is signed. The franchise is renewable for four additional terms of 10 years each, provided you have complied with provisions of the Franchise Agreement.

We provide extensive support to our franchise partners from site selection, build-out, training, to market launch and on-going support
How much training do you provided?
Zesty provides extensive training and orientation support to our franchise partners. This includes 2-3 weeks of initial training at Zesty’s corporate restaurants. In addition, we provide management certification and food safety program online. The training starts approximately 2 months before your store opens. The training also extends to your restaurant during the days leading to soft and grand opening. Check our training program page.
What support systems does Zesty provide?
In addition to field support, Zesty will provide the following services:
- Site Selection — Prior to approving a site our area development advisor will provide franchisees with clear criteria for a suitable location.
- Operational Support — ongoing training and support as related to operations and maintenance of your restaurant, customer-service, supply negotiation, suggested pricing guidelines, and administrative procedures.
- Marketing Support — Zesty will coordinate development of advertising and marketing materials and strategies for the benefit of all members of the franchise network.
- Accounting/Audit/Legal — Reporting directly to administration, this department is responsible for the financial and legal oversight of franchisees.

The success of any business depends on the effectiveness of the owner/operator.
What kind of experience do I need to have?
We do require restaurant experience, ideally in the Mediterranean or similar type of cuisine. You need to be passionate about food and customer service. Exceptional work ethics and management experience a a big plus. We will assist you through the entire start-up process and train you to operate your restaurant using our proven operating system. If you just follow our lead, work hard and take outstanding care of your customers, you’ll guarantee your success.
Can I be an absentee owner?
No. We do require at least one investor/owner to work full-time as the restaurant operator. This is especially critical in the first two years as the business builds its customer base.
Will I have an exclusive territory?
Zesty grants an exclusive territory for a minimum of 3 units and agreed upon case-by-case basis.
